Review of the Outdoor Patio Home Havenbury Gazebo – 10×10′

The majority of owners who gave reviews on the Outdoor Patio Home Havenbury Gazebo rated this gazebo as a 5/5 or a 4/5.

Many people have purchased the Outdoor Patio Home Havenbury Gazebo and most rate it very highly. Some comments were “very attractive and well built unit”, “great gazebo…absolutely love it”, “really changes the whole mood of backyard entertaining”, “decent value for the money”, “awesome gazebo for the price”, “would definitely RECOMMEND this to anyone who is looking for an easy installation gazebo and want the results of a more expensive model”, and “we’re very happy with this purchase”.

There were no complaints about the size. One owner described the size as “enough room for 8 people”, while another said this gazebo is plenty big enough to put a 72″ patio table and six chairs under it, with plenty of room to spare.

Ease of Assembly

Most owners reported that assembly took 2-3 hours and in most cases required 2 people and a ladder. A number of owners suggested using proper tools (a socket wrench and a standard wrench in 10mm and 8mm) instead of the small ones that come with the gazebo, to make the job go faster.

Most owners expected the assembly to take a few hours and felt this gazebo was relatively easy to assemble. One summed it up well with “Construction was a pretty easy affair with the help of one person”. Others said the instructions are straight forward and all of the parts line up.  Only one person reported it a hassle to put together.  One owner reported “it comes with lot of parts but don’t let that scare you. It took me and my wife about an hour to assemble most of the gazebo and then we had to have two other people assist us to erect all four post and join them together”. A single mom was able to assemble this gazebo herself in two hours, only needing her 3 children (ages 8 and 10) to help to lift the roof on.

Several owners mentioned that the canvas was tight to install but said “if you let it sit in the sun and warm up it will stretch just enough to make it easier”. Another built a 12/x 12 deck first to put the gazebo onto.  Another put his gazebo on a concrete slab patio and anchored the posts with concrete anchors. One owner stressed the need to be sure to secure the gazebo down.

Like most fabric gazebos, the Outdoor Patio Home Havenbury Gazebo is water resistant, not waterproof. One owner did use two cans of silicone waterproofing spray to extend the life of his canopy. We would recommend that all buyers do this. Since the canopy is so taunt, there doesn’t appear to be any problems with water pooling, which is a big plus point as many other fabric gazebos have this issue.

Most owners find this gazebo very sturdy. Some had issues with damage from high winds when their gazebos weren’t anchored down but those who did anchor theirs had nothing but good to report. One owner’s gazebo flipped in the wind after three years of service but was able to be righted again with only one small strust being bent (they straightened). Another owner, however, reported that her unsecured gazebo was blown off her patio in 40 mph winds, all bent up and the canopy ripped.

One owner reported “several features helped us to make this purchase. First, the unit is put together with sturdy screws, not pop rivets or plastic connectors. Second, and probably most important, was that this unit comes with tubular legs”. Several other owners, who live in high wind areas, have filled the tubular legs with sand or pea gravel to anchor the gazebo even more securely. an owner who had bolted down the legs of his gazebo said they’d had “60 and 70 mine per hour winds and tornadoes in surrounding counties and the gazebo held just great”. Another owner commented on the venting on the roof, saying “the canopy is made so that even on windy days it’s like the wind blows right through the canopy”. Several owners mentioned that they had had their gazebos for 2 or 3 years already.

A few people had issues with the effectiveness of the insect netting, commenting “there’s a pretty sizable gap between the ground and screen, and another gap between the screen and the canopy”, and “the separate center canopy with its’ ties leaves plenty of gaps for bugs to come and go freely”.

A few others did note the need to remove the canvas for winter in snowy climates as heavy snow will collapse the canvas and possibly bend the frame.

A nice little extra that several owners commend on was the hook in the center that you can hang a chandelier from, with one saying they’d put an outdoor ceiling fan in their gazebo.

The Outdoor Patio Home Havenbury Gazebo appears, by most accounts, to be a sturdy, well-built gazebo that is relatively easy to assemble. Price is good and it appears to give good value for the money. If you do decide that this is the gazebo for you, be sure you anchor it down to the deck or patio soon after assembling it. As long as you do that, it should give you several years of service and enjoyment. We have no hesitation in highly recommending the Outdoor Patio Home Havenbury Gazebo.
